In this Basic Hypnosis and NLP class, you’ll learn:

• Introduction to Hypnosis and NLP: What is Hypnosis, What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming, What is a Trance State, Myths & Misconceptions, The Conscious, Subconscious & Unconscious Mind, Applications in Clinical Settings.
• Inducing and Monitoring Trance States: Conditions to Arouse a Hypnotic Trance State, Physical Characteristics of Trance, Levels of Trance, Styles of Inductions, Permissive Language, Guiding a Client into Trance, Deepening Techniques, Bringing a Client Out of Trance, Suggestibility.
• Language of Hypnosis: Speaking the Language of Hypnosis, Guidelines for Effective Suggestions, Post Hypnotic Suggestions.
• Self-Hypnosis: Steps for Self-Hypnosis, Guidelines for Effective Suggestions, Hypnotic Language Examples.
• How to Incorporate Hypnosis with Other Healing Modalities: Using Hypnotic Suggestions in Conjunction with Acupressure/Bodywork, Acupuncture, or Energy Psychology Work to Amplify Results.

Plus, when you learn to go into a hypnotic trance state, you activate your own innate healing abilities. So, you’ll leave the class feeling revitalized and refreshed!

Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists

Barbara Cox, PhD is an approved provider of continuing education (PCE 5033) for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) for California LMFT, LCSWs, LEPs, and LPCCs. Course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Licensed social workers in other states should contact their individual state jurisdiction to review the current continuing education requirements for license renewal. Students are also welcome to attend and may receive course credit/hours. Check with your individual institutions.

Acupuncturists

This course is submitted to the California Acupuncture Board and is pending approval. Barbara Cox, PhD is an approved provider of continuing education (CE Provider #1046) for the California Acupuncture Board.

Other Professions

This educational offering qualifies for 1.5 continuing education hours as required by many national, state and local licensing boards and professional organizations. Save your course outline and certificate of completion and contact your board or organization for specific filing requirements.

Psychologists

The APA refuses to approve anything that is related to ‘energy psychology’.  Therefore, since the seminar discusses hypnotic techniques combined with a discussion of meridian points, it would not be approved by the California Board of Psychology. Some other state psychology boards may take issue credit for BBS approved courses. Check with your individual state board.

It encompasses and addresses the full spectrum of human psycho-spiritual development – from our deepest wounds and needs, to the existential crisis of the human being, to the most transcendent capacities of our consciousness.  Join us for the inaugural meeting in April!

Moving Towards an Empowered Self: Helping Your Client Embody Hidden Strengths

Using a mind-body-spirit integrated approach, we will discuss a streamlined system to awaken strengths in our clients. You’ll learn:

We are basically made up of electromagnetic energy. Some cultures call it “chi.” Science is just beginning to explore this. With a clearer understanding of how the human energy system works, you can clear out patterns that no longer serve you and create new ones. You can more easily calm your mind and be at peace. It doesn’t have to be a mystery ; it can be a useful pragmatic skill.

Introductory Course / Prerequisite for Advanced Program

In the six-week introductory course, we will be discussing the following concepts and techniques:

• Concept 1- The technique of electromagnetic ‘Grounding‘- The first step to doing this is simply to begin noticing what you hold onto that is not you, and to let go of it. This skill helps you connect with your body and become calm.
• Concept 2 – The technique of ‘Life Energy (‘Chi’) Recovery’ – this is the process of neutrally reclaiming your energy that is tied up somewhere in the illusion of time and space. We all know it’s an illusion – right? Have fun with it. Learning this process often helps you create more quickly and feel more energized, especially if you tend to feel tired or drained.
  
• Concept 3- The technique of a ‘Meditative State’ and ‘Feeling’ Patterns- this is the ability to create a singular focus of energy and attention. See meditation article here for more. Once you learn this, we practice reading each other’s patterns & learning to follow your ‘hunches’, referred to as ‘intuition’.

• This Introductory Class is a prerequisite for the Advanced Intuitive Technologies Program.

Advanced Intuitive Technologies Program / Spiritual Counselor Certification Program

In this 36-week program, we will expand on the concepts learned in the Introductory Intuitive Technologies & Meditation Class. This is an advanced program where you learn to direct and channel chi for greater peace, awareness and balance. Even if you do not plan to work directly with others in personal growth and/or spiritual work, this program will help you move to the next level in your life. And – it will help you enjoy your work and excel in it – no matter what type of work you do.

• You will learn life-long skills to move to a state of peace even in the midst of a chaotic job or career.
• It will help you to be more fully present so that you speak more cogently and fluidly.
• It will help you get to a state of flow and ease with daily life.
• For those who would like, this program will culminate with a graduation ceremony where you will be awarded a certificate as a spiritual counselor.

One of the textbooks we will draw from is Dr. Ervin Laszlo’s Science & The Akashic Experience:
